ones we love

from michelle at five to michelle at 10.from my niece at 10,the images and childern i love! oh and a friends child, jane that always loved our pool!some of these images are getting a little old now, some of the children have one or two of their own, some of these shots go back twenty years and all were done in the dark room, where at their age then it was magic to them and i was almost a wizard, times have changed but so many families still get out their new wiz bang digital cameras and try to capture the beauty of their chilern when they were so young,i feel so sorry for the families that dont record the images of their kids in the passing of youth, they go and get the photo of santa or the choc bunny or an image done by the pixie people at the local k mart, very pretty but not kids as they should be known.
michelle walks into a tropical glass house which has mist falling from the pipes above, she feels the mist, turns her head upwards and allows the water particles drop on her face,i have a camera with me,see something beautiful, turn and take a candid shot, later when the image is developed,we find wings of huge ferns have appeared behind her,i love this image and she too, as not to long afterwards she starts to head towards growing up at a fast pace and the child starts to fade,no going back, but she can look at this image and rememder the wonderful day.its sad that many parents miss out on these events.a child hopes and turns towards the camera,a shutter clicks and it looks like a little tear is just under the eye,no its just a drop of water from the hair that has just been submerged in the pool.so the memories grow old and the subjects hit their 20s but the images remain that the painting with light has created.

Your essay is so true! I always encourage parents to record the everyday events of thier children.Such a valuable treasure to share in later years.

Your essay is incredible and gives me the confirmation that I am doing right by capturing all kinds of everyday shots of my kids. My oldest (12 yrs old) had a friend that asked me the other day "Whats up with all the pictures?" And I thought I love my kids I dont want to miss a minute... Your story confirms that I am on the right track. Thanks!!! Your captures are beautiful and perfect. Great job!!!!
