A Venetian Kaleidoscope
By Deborah Downes

"I'd rather be in Venice on any rainy day than any other capital on a fine one," said author Herman Melville in 1857. Following my first trip to that enchanting city, I agree with him. But there's nothing like sunlight in Venice. While walking along canals and crossing bridges from Piazza San Marco to Campo Santa Margherita, I continually saw sunbeams transform the myriad colors and textures of Venezia, turning age-old walls into photographic canvases. I happily captured images of my favorites, and now enjoy the pleasure of sharing them with you.
