Since the invention of the camera, we can freeze the split second moment in time with photo. Our brain only can remember few details of the moment in our experience in time. Cameras capture and trap the light that traveling in infinite distance in a photo paper to able us to remember all over again the moment time after time.
One of the moments that I like to capture was the jump shoot. I don't know how to define this kind of photo so I just call it a jump shoot. Jump shoot give us a very different feeling that open to lots of interpretation and inspiration. Jump shoot is spontaneous, natural and original. You won't able to redo the position and the expression and only have one chance to take a perfect moment. Most of the jump shoots present a happy expression as it always said "Jump with Joy".
Subject to your jump shoot can be your friend or some stranger that you candidly photograph. Every photo gives you a very interesting expression and each of them will be a surprised. The problem with a jump shoot is when you trying to capture it with your automatic point and shoot camera. Point and shoot camera has a very slow respond to the press button because it need time to calibrate and focus to the subject.
Digital SLR is the most suitable camera to capture the jump shoot because of it fast mechanical respond and with it multiple speed frame at least 3-5 frame per second, you can choose a very best frame to be the best jump shoot. Low light can be a disadvantage in capturing a good jump shoot. The low light need a low shutter speed to create a good exposure photo. With a low speed shutter, movement from the jump will blur the subject and render it blur. The solution to this problem is to use a good flash light to make sure an adequate shutter speed and to avoid blur motion effect at the photo.
