Adiondack Splendor

Did you ever wake up from a dead sleep with a camera lens calling? Daylight was coming and it is the first sun light in a long time of gloom and drab. Even the dog was restless and wanting an adventure. All night long my mind mulling over, I need to work, I don't want to work and wow the the fall colors are so beautiful. Self keeps saying, theres not so many days left better get moving. Well anyway you can see the sort of dilema my brain was havin! Call it the call from the wild. In any event you can see the results of this conundrum of color. I packed water, doggy snacks and the long leash and away we headed for the Adirondack mountains. A favorite place of mine that is tied into my family history. Can you picture me and very active dog thats barks at everything trying to have a relaxing day and only pick the best places to shoot pictures. Well I didn't get any in the small towns that I went through because the dog seemed to want attention from all the ladies and everyone that passed. Have you ever tried to take pictures with a 30 pound bouncing dog at the end of a leash? I thought so. So we settled on the places we could tether the dog, place a water bowl and trapse a little way away....not to far or the barking began! Yes I know he is spoiled! Don't worry ladies someday if I find another special person hes gonna start sleepin on the floor no matter what it takes! So anyway we left as early as possible and started out in our quest for fall color and lake reflections. Round trip and a quick stop at the hamburgler place for the dog and 7 hours of driving produced about 175 images. Quite a few were taken from road side stops from Fine, New York to Lake Placid. I hope you enjoy the sampling. All were taken with my Nikon D80 and either my nikkor 18 - 135 mm or my Nikkor 70 - 300mm. I also use on occasion a Hoya pro 1 polarizing filter. Thanks for reading!.......Jim
