mushroom-story

valkyriesnack

Two weeks ago I was walking one of my standard routs, off road, on the island where I live/belong. Suddenly I discovered this perfect mushroom by the path, almost like Disney or Murakami....and I got the idea for this picture. I did not have camera nor time,- so I had to wait three days to come back with my gear (Richo, tripod/manfrotto, and my favorite neglishe' :) ). Weather was no good, and when I came to the right spot, I found that a stupid creature (human, of course) had kicked the top of my beautiful motif and stamped on it. FCK !

I got off the trail and after half an hour I was fortuante enough to discover a new, red one...bit snail eaten,- but I was capable of making the"gamblers breakfast" from it.

Still...I had this image in my head, I could not forget the perfect one....so a week later I was still hunting for new mushrooms. I found one quite nice by the road...and eagerly I waited for a day off work to take the picture again (it's already start to get less light here up north...). Going home, late evening two days ago I eagerly look for my red love in the dusk,- in vain. Two large black snails are having a feast on the poor stump of a trunk thats left. I almost gave up.

So; today I just grab my things...not sure what to photograph, but wanting to go to the secret place I have not visited for almost two years...just to play ...And what do I find ?

I'm even so lucky that the knife and fork from last time is still in my bag by a coinsidence (...or maby because I'm careless)...and I'm able to fulfill my dream for this snap.

The title is changed, as this mushrooms where used by vikings before going to war,- to become a little more mad :) . Perhaps not what I need the most, but it's going to be an interesting day....

happy ending !
