Thank you for your personal post today!!! I really agree with you that things just dont seem right! I am fairly new to JPG but this "HOT" thing has me perplexed. I had my first "HOT" photo and man, I was a happy girl!!! It is like saying yeh... you belong here! But then the next day it is gone. Heartbroken!!! sniff sniff!!! I don't understand what makes a shot "HOT". Does it matter how many views, commments and Favorites in a single day or over a span of time. Do they take away the "HOTNESS" after a theme closes. Or is a photo only "HOT" beause it is outside the norm for the theme. What is it!!! UGH! I have had shots that have a lot of comments, views and favorites... yet they are not "HOT"! My one "HOT" shot, that was revoked I think, only had 23 views, 8 comments and 8 favorites!! I dont know what to think but I will say that sometimes JPG is a love/hate thing. I could say that I am just here to share my pictures... That "Hotness" or even being published doesn't matter. But they are all ways of feeling like one belongs, no different than the wonderful comments and Favorites that are left under our images. We all come back and continue to post our images because we do feel like we belong. I love coming to this site to post my images.. I love that I have been accepted here and that a place like this exist. I have found a home here a JPG. I also love viewing the images captured by my fellow JPGers. They are an inspiration to contine to capture new moments; to look at everyday things in a new artistic way and to see the world from a different angle. I am sure that everyone who has recieved a "HOT" picture can remember the feeling of excitement... the same feeling that you get from your first comment and your first contact. JPG really needs to make this "HOT" thing a little easier to understand. If that means that I dont get my "HOT" photo status back... that's ok. I would rather have clarity of understaning "hotness"!
