Wild Flower Field

I was on my way to work at a beach ice cream shop and spotted this lovely wild flower field a block from the Oceanfront. Even though I was running late I had to pull over, jump out of my car and take a few shots. A few months prior a cottage had been torn down, probably to make room for a future parking lot, and since the sandy lot had been abadoned for some time these beauties had time to take over! There aren't many spots like this near the beach anymore. Most oceanfront property is taken up by a hotel, a gift shop or tourist trap. It was so refreshing and beautiful to see nature thriving in the midst of constant development.
