Photo Essay

The Up Side to Bad Weather

I just spent a week at the beach. This was a very laid back trip. No schedules, no plans. Just time away from the daily stress of home.

As luck would have it, tropical storm Hanna decided to make an appearance. Not many people I know would call this luck. Just the die hard photographers and surfers. A match made in heaven. So while other tourist were packing up to leave I was heading down to the beach.

Just make sure you have your equipment protected and don't mind getting wet.

I shot these images from the beach and from the pier. A glance down from the pier to see six foot sharks was enough for me to not to get into the ocean.

The next time you're at the coast and it's windy and raining, head to the beach anyway. Use common sense and safety. The thrill of shooting these guys make it worth it.
