Sisters

Sisters

Thanksgiving of 2007 was a reunion between my Mom and her baby sister. Living in two different states, they don't get to see each other as often as they would like. So last Thanksgiving we all met at my sisters house in Oklahoma, half way between Mom and Aunt Ina. It was cool but beautiful weather. The day reminded us of Thanksgivings in the past. We all would gather at a family members home and enjoy everyones chatter, kids playing, everyone watching the parades on television and then the feast of all time. This day was classic. But the end of the day when my Aunt Ina and Uncle Jim had to load up and head back to their home in Kansas, the emotions were thick. Always telling herself that she wasn't going to cry, Mom broke her own promise. They both hugged and spoke words of love and devotion. Words of caution and promises to call each other often. Then to break the spell of sadness, Aunt Ina puts on the "clown" look and everyone laughs. The day ended on a goofy note. Thanks Mom and Thanks Aunt Ina for your love of each other and of our family. Many more happy reunions okay?
