Visible Light

The night sky is one of the most beautiful things in this world. Once you are able to get away from city lights and major centers of light pollution the skies open up and shine down with thousands upon thousands of twinkling pinpoints of light. They are of all different colors; white, red, orange, yellow and even blue.
During the summer of 2008 I was lucky enough to work as a backpacking guide in New Mexico, a land where the night sky is unbelievable. Using just my DSLR and a tripod I was able to capture these images.
The Milky Way was clearly visible to the naked eye on most nights and only required a 30 second exposure to show up on camera. The star trails were both from 30+ consecutive 30 second exposures, stacked together in photoshop.
