For some reason election years remind me of Nixon and Nixon reminds me of peace signs. I can still see him on TV and in numerous photos from all those years ago, "Tricky Dick" raising his hands and giving the country the "fingers"; both hands, waving to the crowds. Everyone loves to give the sign, kids doodle on their note books, parents dream off it on a daily basis, its even has a slang version. One thing i have found, people love to give it. Getting shots of people fingers raised is not a problem, some don't even have to be prompted. One million peace signs is the goal. At one million peace signs you'll find over 8,000 peace related photo's, a list of peace events, stories, history and lots of ways to add your peace."One time on a boat...I was under the influence of LSD, I heard the Beatles' "A Day in the Life." I was singing along with the music. I saw my voice depart my mouth, bounce off the New York waters, into the ocean, go all the way around the earth...and return to my own ears. A moment of powerful peace."-Eric Burdon, Feb. 29th, 2008. This is a quote from an interview with Mr. Burdon one of the original "Animals" done by Felicha Bogroff. This is one of the many story's and opinions about peace.

To the user columbine: Peace is the feeling that all's right with the world. The trick is in how you define your world. If it's the World, then you won't know Peace for awhile. If you can somehow make your world small enough to control it yourself you might have a shot at peace. If you watch the news or read the papers you can tell that war is profitable so peace will be a long time coming. I don't know if that answers anything about what peace means but I know it was a good thing to try and put it into words beyond just trying to make sense of it for myself. At one million peace signs every opinion is welcome

"In Judaism and Christianity, a white dove is generally a sign for peace. The Hebrew Bible describes a story in which a dove was released by Noah after the Great Flood in order to find land. The dove came back carrying an olive branch in its beak, telling Noah that the Great Flood had receded and there was land once again for Man. (Genesis 8:11).

The motif can also represent "hope for peace" and even a peace offering from one man to another, as in the phrase "extend an olive branch". Often, the dove is represented as still in flight to remind the viewer of its role as messenger.":from wikipedia. History on peace and it's various states and forms are abundant

My name is felicha Bogroff and I am one of the peace hero writers. I can tell you that with more support for the site, more opinions will be expressed and hopefully make a connection with peace. I have done several interviews with Eric burdon, The Electric Prunes and Freddy Cannon to name a few. With more support, your voices will be heard!
