Forgotten about

Almost all photographers are attracted to things, places and even people who show the passing of time. Full of texture and detail, the peeling paint, broken windows and weathered furniture. What do you do with it? . Why would anyone want to hang a print of an old, decaying building? , I don't know, so I always think of having a fresh face in an amazing outfit and voila! Instant juxtaposition... Done that.
In this case, this house is not just a great find, this is my grandparents old house. They just could never let it go, but even more interesting is the fact that most of it is almost as they left it originally (with the intention of coming back to get "the important stuff") and now has become some sort of a time capsule. Every now and then my cousins and I will go treasure hunting and every single time there is something new and interesting that we could swear was not there before. We have rescued clothing, there are outfits from the 50's up to 80's kept in perfect condition (great for photo shoots), sunglasses are the top find and of course cameras. My grandfather was a photographer himself and I keep looking for those hidden treasures.
This time, I wanted to take some photos that were in a way, portraits without a face. Portraits of the vast memories this particular place holds. I know almost all people can look at an old empty pool, remember the good times and wish it still worked.
This is how I feel about this house, which by the way is not abandoned, it's just kind of forgotten about, but only 'till the next time we go back in.
