Our hair is our crown. This old phrase simply told us about the use of our hair from another several uses of hair. It protects us from heat and cold, sweat and dust and our hair style reflects our soul. It describes us from the way it is, said Rakhmad Murti Waskito a.k.a Bakso, the choreographer and director of the 'Gelung Gunung' performance at Petung Kidul Village, Magelang - Central Java on July the 6th 2008.
The idea came from the fact that there are exotic gembel-hair styles that found on the people who lived on the Merbabu clift such as, gembel upo, gembel gimbal and gembel kucir. For Merbabu people hair style doesn't just a matter of 'looking good' but it is art, artistic way to reveals our self. Bakso then created the artificial hair style from hemps, hays, and leafs and then presented them into a contemporery dancing performance alongside with his fellow artists.
