Photo Essay

By the River

Growing up in the countryside has some advantages over the city. As teenagers, from April until October, if the sun was out, you'd find everyone down by the river, swimming, climbing trees, making fires and sleeping out. Now we're older and everyone has jobs, people are rarely free to do that. Even when they are, fishermen have cut down our trees and done everything they can to stop us hanging out there. These photos are of the past times when, as teenagers, we were free to be by the river.
