The River

Take Me to the River . . .

There is a field across from my house and beyond that a little ways is the river. It's small, but gently flows. It's nice and cold and it's peaceful. It's where my children like me to take them, and the dog does too.

It's hard for me to turn around and go back out once I finally get home for the day, but I must admit, the river calms me and helps me to unwind. It's beauty and rushing water are soothing. The dog can't wait to jump in. My children enjoying "fishing" for little fish, reflecting on the water, just sitting and talking, splashing, or skimming stones. It gives us each solitude while being together.
