What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
Wetumpka Alabama in the Historic West Wetumpka Neighborhood
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
Historic to Modern Homes, mostly Middle Class, Blue-collar workers to Lawyers & Doctors
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
Most of my life minus two years. My parents, home from the hospital.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
The wide variety of photographic opportunities.
The small town politics that go with a small town.
Do you feel that you belong there?
Yes it's my home.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
That Wetumpka is a very small town, in fact, we are one of the most rapidly growing cities in the state with the third fastest growing county (Elmore).
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
Our city lies inside a crater that hit millions of years ago!
Wetumpka lost by one vote to being the Capital of Alabama.
Also, an eastern newspaper stated that Wetumpka, Alabama, and Chicago, Illinois, were the two most promising cities of what was then called "The West" in 1836.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
The beautiful historic places & homes, scenic rivers and countryside and nice small town atmosphere
(minus the politics).
Anything else you'd like to add?
In the main photo is our historic and well know bridge the "Bibb Graves Bridge" which leads to another historic landmark and that is the First Presbyterian Church.
