Abstracts and Patterns: Diamonds in the Rust!

Between the bases

When I came across Peggy Gardner's images, I could see her work echo's a lot of my own ideas of what makes a 'good picture'. So I just had to pull out a couple of my faves and join in with the mood of her captures.

Peggy finds beauty in an old car, in an oil-stain in the parking lot, a rusted pulley in a puddle. I've seen those sort of things too. When you tune yourself to the light, and are always 'taking pictures' (even if you don't have your cam with you) (which you should!), your eye and sensitivity will grow.

In the early morning and late afternoon you will find magic light. Or on an overcast day you can get some subtle and very saturated colors.

Always be looking for images, shapes, textures. Always be watching the light - see how it changes the look of things from hour to hour. Look for the odd pattern - if it catches eye, somebody else maybe be move by it. Interesting stuff will show up in the darnedest places. And when combined with =your= special vision - who knows what magic will happen!
