Summer Riding

Summer Riding

Living out in the county was hell for me at first. Not being in town where I could walk or take a bus to the nearest ice cream shop. Being out in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. The only thing I wanted was to live by my friends, who lived in house that where like five feet away from the next one.

I have now come to realize that is beautiful and really something I took for granted. Waking up in the morning and looking out the window to see deer, never gets old and is still amazing every time. Having my own forest to walk though whenever I want is wonderful. But I think the best thing I have discovered is taking long quite bike rides just down the road. With a nature park just a couple miles down a nice smooth ride is all I need to get there.

This summer has been great for bike rides down to the park. With my growing interest in photography, I now bring my camera. My first stop is just a minute away, at an empty field. I love fields, I just think that they are something so simple yet so amazing. Twenty minutes latter I'm at the park taking a photo of my bike. I stop to get a drink of water at the fountain and put my bike away. I will now continue on foot with my camera.

The first thing I spot at the park is a couple taking a nice stroll together. With not many people at the park I move on to the plants and flowers that are all around me. Now I'm no expert on plant and flower names, but I know what I like. I see these purple bell like flowers. Snap! I take a photo and in my mind they're now "Twinkle Bells". Next down the path I can help but see gigantic dandelion, which has to be bigger than my fist. I pick it, take a photo, and then blow it out and make a wish. All day long dragonflies were flying and buzzing around, and every time one landed it would fly away before I could get a photo. Finally I captured one resting on a cattail and I was ecstatic.

After I finish at the park it is time to bike home. Another twenty minutes back to my county home. On the way I stop to take one last photo of an old farm house that I have always loved.

I now have an unbreakable love affair with the county and my bike rides.
