Mothers and Daughters

We are always connected to our mothers no matter what happens. In July 2006 I saw a friend and her family. The last time I saw her she was a college student with the concerns that most college students have. She was not a mother nor a wife then.
As I look at theses photos I see how she made the changes to being a mother. These changes don't come naturally for some. But for her, I think she made the transformation with grace.
Sometimes when I take a series of photos focusing on one or several subjects, I get nothing that is appealing to me. In this case however, I captured moments that are revealing to the relationship between this mother and daughter.
I like these photos not only because they capture clear and distinct expressions but also because they demonstrate how powerful the relationship between a mother and daughter can be. The word that comes to mind is "synergy."
