High art at the playground

blue monk

Things have sure advanced in the area of local playground technology; bouncy rubber floors, spiral slides and rotating monkey bars. When the afternoon sun hits these various structures, shapes form at your very feet. It's like you are standing on large format abstract art. Inspired, I brought my trusty Holga the next afternoon.

That day, I had everything needed for interesting double and triple exposures: black and white film, fleck rubber floor for noise and crisp shape friendly shadows. The combination of the Holga viewfinder and remembering what I shot in the previous exposure set the stage for good karma and happy accidents. So if you're in the mood to play, check out what your local playground is up to and remember to add direct sun.

Excuse me, I have to go; the swings are open.

It's true, playground shadows are brilliant. Your pics are better than my efforts though
