... Turkey against Czech Republic, 15th June, Euro 2008; sitting in a Caffee in Raumerstr., Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin. 89'': the Captain of Turkey, Kahveci Nihat, take the ball in front of the penalty area, shoot and goals... 3-2 !!! 92 '': the Czechs are attackin', a ball high in the center of the Turkish Area, the goalkeeper Demirel Volkan goes to butterfly, but the ball is out...tension, Volkan beats a Czech player, and the referrer decide for the red card... Turkey in 10. The match finish...It was incredible, so I decided to take my bike, my camera and reached the quarter of Kreutzberg, the soul of Turkish life in Berlin. This shots talks about the after match celebrations in Oranienstr., around Kottbuser Tor U- Bahn and Görlitzer Banhof. It was very difficult because people were runnin' everywhere and car hurtling, clacsons, red flags and half moon at all points. But i must confess that I was surprised to see a lot of German, that usually are accredited to be racist against Turkish, to celebrate together! The only ones that were not able to enjoy were the several cops sent to control the situation, with their green clothes that cover the plastic inside to look bigger and stronger...

The party is not finished, but I'm on my travel to return in my area. The sounds and the claps, the songs and the cars are far, and I think that sometimes very easy things, like a ball rollin' over a field with 22 men runnin' around, can make people happy and hide the rest of darkness that is around our society. The colours are mixed with the light of the cities and a strange landscape decorated with the red and white colour of the Turkish flag together with the black, red yellow flag of Germany makes the night unique...
