Children of Nepal

Young girl in doorway

The Annapurna circuit is a 20 day trek through the Himalayas in Nepal, climbing up to a peak of just over 17,000 feet, and a total distance of about 300km. After the first day on the trail, there are no longer any roads, there is no electricity or running water. All supplies are carried in by either Mule or by human porters.

There are almost no flat areas, and the faces of the mountain are more like walls that tower all around you. Anywhere you walk, it is either uphill, or downhill. To an outsider, life seems harsh, rugged, and difficult. Looking at these kids, I think they must grow up at a very early age.
