A Salute to the Pin-Up Girl

The Pin-up Girl is an artistic tradition going back at least to the 1890s, even if the term "pin-up" was only first used in the 1940s.
I've always had an appreciation of classic pin-up art. My personal favorites are the paintings by Alberto Vargas and Rolf Armstrong as well as the photography by Bunny Yeager. Since I had started as a photographer, I always wanted to do a Vargas-type shoot. Eventually, the opportunity came to me.
For several years, I have known a model by the name of Meghann who also has an appreciation for pin-up art, in particular Bettie Page. Many pictures in her portfolio are tributes to Bettie. When she was traveling through my area, we set up a shoot.
It was July and 105 degrees outside, (precluding my normal preference to shoot outdoors) and we crammed into my makeshift studio. It was still too warm, but we managed to get some interesting shots, including several in that Vargas pin-up style that I was looking for.
All these images came from that shoot.
