What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
I live in Rexmont, PA which is a part of Cornwall Borough, South of Lebanon, PA.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
Although I live in a modern subdivision, much of the area is old, traditional, victorian, historical and very picturesque.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
I've lived in Rexmont for just 2 years, but the greater Lebanon area for almost 10 years. My hubby brought me here.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
I love the age of the area, the history and traditions. There is a feeling of being part of something that has been going on for a long time. I guess my least favorite thing is all the housing that is going up. There is a house at the top of the hill, over 9,000 sq. ft and 2 people live there. It makes no sense to me.
Do you feel that you belong there?
YES! Although I was an Airforce brat and was raised in Tucson, Arizona, my roots are in wetter and greener climes.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
I was going to say, that "there is not much going on here." But, really, that is true. There isn't a lot going on, however, I always have something to do and someplace to go if I have my camera. I'm not really sure what "outsiders" think about the area.
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
You have to live here to know where "Miners Village", "Goosetown", and "Toytown" are.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
I love all the old buildings...especially the ones that look like they need to be torn down...like the mining buildings near the new golf course on the hill.
Anything else you'd like to add?
I hope all the new housing that is going up in Cornwall right now won't detract from the local character.
