Pin Up Portraiture.

When I was 16 I discovered Bettie Page, for those of you who don't know who Bettie Page is, she was, and still is considered the ultimate pinup and fetish model , and was the model of the 1950's. Shortly after I discovered Dita Von Teese, the incredible burlesque performer, and since then I have been addicted to pinup, retro and burlesque themes in my photography. Since I wrote this essay, Bettie Page tragically died and the pinup world has been left with a hole in its heart, she will always be remembered.
I am highly inspired by Bunny Yeager, who created Bettie Page's most iconic images, as well as the classic Hollywood actress's of the 1950's, however, I like my work to have a modern twist, often with tattooed and pierced models. I'm lucky to have a local burlesque scene which provides me with some beautiful models!
