Photos from a Gringo

When thinking of Brazil most people think of the rainforest, Rio or Sao Paulo. These photos are taken from the interior state of Minas Gerais. Getting to know this area as a gringo has been difficult, entertaining and an adventure. I see the mining industry dismantle mountains with methodical pace. I see high rise apartments stretching in almost every direction. I inhale the smog and soot of an unfiltered city. I share many beers with good friends. I see the constant contrast of a warm and friendly culture and the walls with razor wire they put up to keep from being harmed. I have seen people breaking their backs all day but once at home all their worries melt away.
