Where I'm At: A walk through the neighborhood of Vernon, Indiana

When the cat's away, your mind will stray. I'm wondering when will our paths cross again? Have any of you ever seen the "Family Circus" cartoon where little Billy is out in the neighborhood and they show his footprints going round & round to everywhere he steps? http://www.familycircus.com/
That's the picture I have had in my head after 5 days of searching for my cat, Zig. Unlike the cartoon, in my mind there's two paths of prints: one path is pawprints, the other path is my footprints. Right now, they seem to be going in opposite directions.
Both paths go round and round the neighborhood. Up a tree, down a tree, into a flower bed, out of a flower bed, across a road, down to the river, over to the neighbor's, check out the churches, a pit-stop at the antique store, the defunct jail, the blacksmith shop, the post office, and so on and so forth.
The trick here, of course, is to get these two paths to cross at some point. My cat and I can then finally meet in the same spot. This is one of those times where I wished he'd walked through my paints or over my paint pallet before embarking on his little adventure.
Friday night, a neighbor stopped by to tell me about a community function in which he wanted my help. In a very unlikely manner, suddenly my cat Zig darted for the door. I realize its Springtime! The birdies are chirping, there's many new blossoms to be smelled, fresh grass to roll around in and of course there's also the new lovely female kitty next door, but Ziggie, its now time to come home!
All those JPGers with the black panther project http://www.jpgmag.com/stories/4001 are in agreement that your spring frolicking time is up & they're sending good vibes in hopes that you are safe. You're the trickster. You'll return safely with a smirkish smile & new found skip in the step. Right now though, enough is enough, please come home, my feet are cold (is selfishness persuasive to a cat ?). I'm going to continue to do figure eights around the neighborhood, talk to a few trees, squirrels, a statue with a plant for hair, etc until you are found.
