Wrestling: Strength, Endurance, Determination.

My son took a liking to wrestling at a very young age. You couldn't tell him that the moves portrayed on the WWF were scripted or fake, that's a spat that you really didn't want to be involved in. After moving to the Antelope Valley last year, he got his first taste of real wrestling for the first time. He made the JV squad at Lancaster High School and he's been a wrestling fool since he first set foot on the mat.
As my son found out, wrestling is a far cry from what is seen on the television. It takes real dedication and sacrifice to go through what wrestlers go through. These past couple of years, my son has shown me that he's truly dedicated to the sport. It hasn't been an easy road for him since he doesn't have that many years of experience under his belt. He's a fierce competitor and losing a match really gets under his skin.
I didn't think that I would like the sport of wrestling simply because I had television images imbedded in my brain. Since my son has been wrestling, I now have a better understanding of it. It's not all brawn as most people would think. It's pretty much a mental sport as it is a sport of strength.
It has been a real treat for me to be out on the mat in order to capture good action shots. When shooting my wrestling images, I try to capture facial expressions. These expressions usually tell the story of how the match is going for either wrestler.
