Photo Essay

My photography

a little breeze

When I was about the age of seven I started taking photos with an old "Agfa Clack" that my grandpa gave me as a present. I loved this camera, although most of my photos turned out too dark or blurred. But my "errors" didn't disturb me or stopped my curiosity, they only inspired my ambition of getting better!

While I basically snapped "things" as a kid, as a teenager I started to do black and white portrait - photography and simply fell in love with it. I had to learn a lot and still have to, especially about posing! What looks good in real life doesn't have to look good on a photo and postures that makes you laugh when you look at it might look brilliant in the final print. The same about light...

But there is one really important thing that I realised over the years: if you photograph people - the most important thing is to make them feel comfortable. Well, you can do it without for sure, but you might never be able to see the "real" person, which is my ambition in photography. Maybe that's why I do not work in a studio but at the peoples homes, in parks, at locations that suit their character or situation in life or simply at places they love.

Fact is: Every person has its own charm and beauty, you just have to find a way to show it to the world!

This is interesting and relly good advice. I'd like to get into this type of photography a bit more myself. You have my vote!
