Driving Panoramas
By Timothy Masters

It all started with a drive from Boston to Philadelphia I made by myself last fall. Highway driving is boring and monotonous, and I found myself putting my cheap film camera on panoramic setting and shooting away. (Don't worry Mom, I didn't actually use the viewfinder, I just guessed and clicked.)
I have then continued this project in the last few months every time I drive somewhere different. While driving at 70 mphs we do not have the opportunity to "stop and look at the scenery".
But to me, these photographs are the start of great exploration of the landscape surrounding our vast highway system. Cars are such a part of our lifestyles and the landscape is designed to accommodate them.
