My Orange Chucks took me to adjust my Karma

Karma is a law in Hinduism which maintains that every act done, no matter how insignificant, will eventually return to the doer with equal impact. Good will be returned with good; evil with evil

Today my orange chucks took me back to Target to pay for my inadvertently stolen lotion.

Here's the story.

On Wednesday (April 23, 2008) I stopped at Target for a few things. I went to the register. I told the clerk that I didn't want a bag and that I would just put everything in the bag I had with me (a very nice tote bag with the "om" symbol on it).

She proceeded to scan the items. As she finished with them, I inserted them into my bag. Now this bag wasn't empty to start with, it contained my whole life....

My camera, journal, wallet, cell, pens, pencils, a bouncy ball with eyes a book, my ipod, brochures, tons of change, stray painkillers, my keys a nailfile and some other stuff.

The cashier finished scanning all of the items. I inserted my Visa into the card thingy. Then, for some reason, my order cleared. The register screen went blank. Completely blank. The register no longer had my purchases. The Target employee needed to re-scan all of my stuff. I dug what I thought was everything from my bag. She scanned it and insisted on a plastic bag this time. Like my refusing the landfill filling snagged in trees bad for the environment plastic bag somehow voided my order.

I paid and left the store. Later I realized that I forgot to give her a lotion bottle to re-ring. So being insanely guilt ridden, I went back to Target on my lunch break today and paid for the lotion. $3.95 well spent.
