The Project

Yes you can!!!!

What works best, is the simple desire to try something different. I can't stop myself from popping in the local pawnshop and looking at the old lenses stacked and collecting dust. This is going on around the world and there's so many uses for the glass that it's like walking past possibilities.

Fo DSLR macro shooters wanting to get in really close, a second hand 50mm spun around backwards on your macro lens will surely make your toes curl when you pop off a couple of frames. Lighting becomes challenging, but not if you eat Kraft Dinner....

I lined a kraft dinner box with foil and created a flap that shoots the light down onto the subject and avoids the lens shadow that's a direct result from long macro lens use.

So, in just a few words I hopefully have you thiking about being creative rather than paying for possibilities. It's easy to go to the store and order a solution, but is it really the solution? Wouldn't you rather learn what is that you really need because you understand how it all works?

Point and shoot Macro:

Using a small CyberShot 4.1 MP & a small loop magnifying glass similar with what a jeweler uses in one eye can yield excellent results using the P&S body flash because the loop is short and the flash passes over top, unless your finger is in the way.

Issues while using additional lenses:

It's a barrel effect, big round circle.... Just use your zoom to get rid of the vinette.

To bright.... Adjust your camera to manual and select a low ISO and high Aperture, then adjust your shutter speed to get the desired result.

The possibilities are endless, but if you can't identify the issues and create solutions then you will be left behind in this rapid image era that we're living in.
