How do you pick the right image and remember where it is?

I was so excited when I heard that the new theme was Creatures.
I had posted a few weeks prior the image "Bugg Eyed" a clever tiny photo shoot my son and I had with a prying mantis. When opportunities arise you take them. Than the theme Creatures was came available. I instantly submitted it for voting since it had been up for a bit and had some great comments. With all the good vibes going out for that images and so many more critter shots in my collection, I got motivated to look through more of my untouched achieved shots. You know the ones of your families; play shots, art shots and all the other images we take and put aside to do later. I have a professional responsibility for my clients to complete their projects in a fast and efficient way. In other words there is not enough time to go through my own personal photography. On a day off, if I have a camera I can shot 100's of personal images. Images that I hope will see the light of day or at least make it into my family albums.
For a few months I have been working on a Children's book of critters and creatures. I already had a folder with many images waiting to be worked on. I kept putting it off and off until this category came to life. What I needed was a good kick in the butt to get me rolling. That opened me up to submitting my first photo essay "Ugly or Beautiful".
I started working on organizing my images with rating, labels and tagging. Using keywords that I create and embedded in the images information using Photoshop Bridge. My goal is to do what I do for my client's images and that would be go through and rate, label and keyword after I download them and back up on a disk and hard drive. Eventually I will have a server for an addition backup system. Saving time on the digital darkroom work will allow me to be even more creative and have a life with my 3 boys while they are boys still.
Let's face it. If I am going to express myself through my photography I better show all the Cool images instead of missing the best ones. Check out "I bugg U" and thanks the Talent God's for creating JPEG Magazine and all the curious and ambitious Photog friends and lovers of ART. I am truly digging what you all are doing! PEACE
