Drive-by Shootings

I'm the kind of traveler that gets bored too quickly with road games or reading. I hate riding passenger and seeing so much, only to watch it fly by in the side-view mirror without a care of digging its way into my collective memory. I hate sitting still in traffic because there isn't enough motion blur except for... other traffic.

There's something so exhilarating about living just a wee bit on the edge and sticking my head out the window at 65+mph and trying to even get (let alone remain) focused on something. Luckily, sometimes I'm riding shotgun and I can shoot all I want, but other times, it's just Mother Road, myself, an ill-tempered auto-focus, and 15 other drivers who have somewhere to be, yesterday.

When you can feel the wind in your hair, you have freedom, but when your audience can feel it in their's too, you have challenged them to roll down the window, step on the gas and maybe for once, step out of their comfort zone into something completely unforgiving, dangerous, but incredibly rewarding.

Some of these shots are from the same area.

Some of these shots I took while driving and some while riding.

All of these shots were completely unplanned, because you can't just flip around on the interstate and "try it again."

It's the luck of the draw on the road, and that's how I like it.
