personalise bokeh

One fine day, a flickr contact of mine posted a shot of Bokeh in the shape of hearts through his lensbaby. I was zapped! So, I started collecting information on how it works. And I found out that bokeh takes the shape of the aperture.
I read somewhere, that by making an attachment in front of a lens with a disc with a hole in the centre in the shape of the bokeh you want, you actually get the bokeh you want!
But I went one step ahead... I had already made my own little meniscus lens homemade 'Lens baby'. All I had to do was, cut out discs in black tinted paper and in the exact centre, make little cutouts in the desired shapes, and just place them at the inner side of the lens...
What an amazingly simple way!
So now, the acid test... The actual results...
And I was amazed at the amazingly simple way of getting these varying shapes in bokeh. I even tried a portrait of a friend with a few lights in the background. It worked! the bokeh of the lights came out as little stars and it gives a wonderful effect.
It is a wonderful feeling to have made something on your own. And the euphoria lasts for a few days. I'll probably be clicking frames with a lot of bokeh in it for a few days, then I'll get bored and switch over to something new or something I did before all over again!
My XTi holds again. I love my camera and it's functions.
Try this, it seems to be , and is indeed - very simple.
There is a simple theory I believe in... If i thought of something and did it, it must be easy as hell!
