One of the highlights of our Namibia trip in 2007 surely was the flight over the Namib desert.
From the beginning, I was desperate to fly with open window in order to not having to shoot through the window. Eventually, I was able to make an appropriate arrangement with a company in Swakopmund. The airstream flowing in blew my family who was sitting in the back almost away. Placed on the co-pilot seat, I was in a much more comfortable position. My only concern was making sure that I didn't stick the lense into the airstream.
The Namib covers an area of about 50.000 square kilometers, stretching about 1600 km along the coast.
It is considered as one of the oldest deserts in the world. The eagles perspective discloses the multitude of colors and shapes. Colors range from almost white to deep apricot while their shapes are star, half moon, linear or sickle formed.
