Remnants of flood

the early morning rain woke us up from deep sleep due to flash flood that has mixtures of mud, plastics, and rubber. the impact of throwing garbage indiscriminately has boomerang effect on us and with our surroundings.
It has been said, that we need to throw and segregate the biodegradable from non-biodegradable garbage to a color coded trash can... but do people understand why? i guess people need to experience again and again the floods to understand its meaning.
animals, insects, plants understand their role in our environment. they're part of the so called circle of life... do we?
