People: the glue that holds the world together

Central Park Moments I

During my travels I always was amazed by the architecture, odd things you don't see in your home town and the general difference of other cultures and countries. Not until 6 years ago I started talking to people in those foreign streets and shooting images of them. Trying to understand not only their language (or broken English) but also understanding where they came from in their walks of life and their look on global issues and local issues that might not keep us awake at night started becoming part of why I enjoy street photography that made.

The Netherlands, Italy, US, UK, North Africa, The Caribbean, wherever you go people make things happen, good or bad. Since I started specializing in street photography and talking to people in the streets in some cases before immortalizing them has changed my own life as well. You start looking at things from a different perspective. Hearing some stories of the wrongs being done to people sometimes really pisses you off but luckily there are also stories of happiness, positive change and understanding and that, that is what makes it all worth while.

The hopes, dreams, transitions people have or go through can be translated in either text or visual presentations but it's not an easy thing to do. Hopefully I will be able to improve doing just that, patience and understanding are part of the process. I am great full to be able to travel as much as I have done, do and hopefully will do in the future. The world is a big place with even more people to meet, talk to or just immortalize and share with the rest of this globe. Enjoy the virtual ride.
