Donner Lake

chapter one.

Donner lake is a small lake in Truckee California which is located near the North shore of Lake Tahoe. Not many tourists know about this lake, or ever get to experience it, and that is how it should be.

This is where i grew up, and it is a sacred place to me.

Some of my first and most fond memories where made here....I learned to swim in this lake, caught my first crawdad here, watched the fireworks on fourth of July exploding over the water...

And as i grow older, the memories keep getting better. I have spent full summer days on one of the many docks, watched countless sunsets, stars, and full moons.

I fell in love here, truely LIVED here, smiled, laughed, partied, slept, ice skated on, and skinny dipped in the lake....

I've gone there in every season, and every type of weather, and it never gets old.

This place is my sanctuary, and no matter where i go in the world, it will ALWAYS be my home.
