Photo Essay

The Netherlands off beat

Scheveningen light house

Due to the fact that I have been living in The Netherlands most of my life, I unluckily don't get much inspiration shooting photographs, especially during the cold and dreary months. This collection was shot in the Dutch City of The Hague and port of Scheveningen and shows some off track images that would not directly be seen as typically dutch apart from the bicycle series maybe.

As The Netherlands is flat like a pancake most Dutchies have a bicycle and ride it either all the time or when it gets nice outside. The images that show bicycles in this series was taken on Central Station The Hague and even though it is only a small cropped part of the bigger picture it gives you a pretty good idea about how crazy the Dutchies are about cycling. There were literally 1000's of cycles parked in front of the station.

The other pictures are a collection of photographs shot over the last few years. Enjoy
