NOCTURNE Photo Novel
By David Yurkovich
19 January 2008
Set in the distant future, Nocturne is written from the perspective of a narrator who is both tired and dismayed with the world. Each chapter reveals a bit about the author's life, or the world in which he inhabits. This experimental photo novel is being produced by writer/artist David Yurkovich, a former Xeric Foundation grant recipient and current co-publisher of Sleeping Giant Creations. Yurkovich uses photos to create a moody, somber world that may or may not be on the horizon. Nocturne chapters publish on a semi-monthly basis; the entire project can be found at www.sleepinggiantcreations.com/nocturne.html
Others may want to consider creating a novel or short story based on photos. It's actually a lot of fun, and with the use of photo editing software, there are virtually no limits to what can be done from a sequential storytelling point of view.
