The Project

52 Week Photo Resolution

Cherubic Taylor

I aim for improvement in 2008. As a photographer, I always want to get better, never worse. So, the most important thing...PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!

I'm a procrastinator. I can admit that. I'd always push my homework till the night before. I'd wait till the days before to buy birthday presents.

I'd put off taking photos for fun, to like...watch TV. Therefore, pushing back PRACTICE. So I told myself to follow a photo schedule for 2008. At least one good photo a week. And to pick it and show it off on flickr or something,

So far, I've stuck to it! I've had 3/52 photos so far considering this is only mid-january. I say I'm going to follow through, and no longer ignore practicing so I can grow as a photographer.

This resolution is good because, you can develop your skills and put your new ones into play, every week. You'll practice, and get the hang of the techniques. Once its January 2009, I can look back on my pictures and see how much my photography have changed from January to December 2008, and that can be a long time, enough for you to change, and get better, OR worse. The thing is, you have to NOTICE it.

If you dont practice your photography, chances are...you'll get worse. To commit to this sort of project, it'll be worth the time, your skills will grow as the year goes on.
