What's trabucco ?!?!

Trabucco (saying also trabocco or travocco) it is an ancient machine give peach diffused in the mean Adriatic, from the coast Frentana until Gargano.

Constructive characteristics

the trabucco it is an imposing construction realized in structural wood that created by of a platform suspended on the large sea berthed to the cliff from log of pine of aleppo, from which they grow tall, suspended to some meter from the water, two (or more) long arms, sayings '' antennas '', that they support an enormous tight mesh net said '' trabocchetto ''.

History

the trabucco would be an invention imported in the region from the Fenici. Some trabucchi have been reconstructed during the last few years, but they have lost for a long time their economic function that in the centuries slid some main source of maintenance of entire families of fishermen made, acquiring in compensation the role of cultural symbols and tourist point.

Technique

the technique of the peach, moreover most effective, it is '' at sight ''. It consists in intercepting, with the great driven in weft nets, the flows of fish that move themselves along gorges of the coast. Equally diffuse they are the '' trabocchi '' along the molisana and abruzzese coast to south of Pescara. the presence of trabucchi however is attested also along the Tyrrhenian bottom
