Big Brother Comes to Ventura

So you want to change the world? How about making a political statement? What better way to convey your feeling than with your livelihood? You don't need graphic imagery to evoke change. One only needs an issue that you're passionate about, and then find a voice that expresses your views.
This is a project I started in 2006 titled "Big Brother Comes to Ventura." This particular piece has placed in local art shows, although my intention was to really raise community awareness. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I submit to you an essay's worth of material.
I grew up in Los Angeles, CA the dominion of Big Brother himself, so I'm no stranger to this presence in society. It wasn't until I moved away from the machine driven archetype to the subdued city of Ventura, CA that I truly became aware of the overbearing growth by Big Brother.
I created this piece to visually illustrate the repetitive motif that the public faces on a daily basis. In the era of intellectual property rights and the patriot act, always remember.....Big brother is watching you!
