Sugar Spice and Everything Nice

Sugar, spice, and everything nice; that's what little girls are made of. One day, I sat in my room thinking of that rhyme I was told as a child. I've grown up since then. I thought to myself, "Then what are women made of?". I instantly thought about the first time I wore makeup as a teenager. As naive as this sounds, I felt like a woman when I put it on for the first time. The first brand I ever used was MAC. I was doing a still life project for high school at the time; so I thought makeup would be a fun subject (me being a girl and all!). I was told to use a pun in this project, so I featured MAC as my everything nice. It's pricey, but well worth it. I have yet to buy something from MAC that I dislike. I made a set using a chair, some old white tshirts, and a desk lamp. It was the cutest thing ever. It reminded me of those tents I made as a little girl. I had trouble getting the desired white though, and my shadows could have been placed a little better. That's what separates the professionals from the amateurs, in my opinion. Anyone can visualize a strong composition, but a true photographer can execute it with ease. In my few years as a photographer, I've considered myself lucky. Lucky because I take pictures and sometimes they come out better than I expect. There are other days when I feel like there's nothing I can do to get the compostition I want. I think with more practice, this piece has potential for magazines such as Vogue and Cosmopolitan. As a devoted customer to MAC, I notice the way their ads grab me. I want to do that for other users. I am afterall a MAC addict.
