Photo Essay

What you do to me

Xing

Throughout the years I spent exploring the boroughs of New York I have met many interesting people. People from different walks of life and who sometimes opened up to tell their story, spill their guts or just give me their opinion .

Many interesting hours I have spent talking to those people but...in a city like New York there is a much larger number of anonymous individuals. Pedestrians, busker's, strays, people at stores and kiosks. People you never have the chance to talk to or choose not to talk to or interact with. Still they provide an interesting subject for photo documentaries. In combination with the grittiness of the city it never leaves me uninspired. I thank the man (or woman) on the mountain (as I call the force we don't see :) ) for the opportunities I have gotten to shoot in so many different locations and meeting so many different characters that enlightened me in very unexpected ways. I am already looking forward to December when I will spend more time in the Big A, after which I will have an exhibition in the city of The Hague, The Netherlands....called "A bigger slice of the Apple", it figures doesn't it. www.photografix.nl
