Minnesota State Fair Food -So Strange, yet So Good!!!

hotdish.. on a stick!

For about one month each summer, Minnesota opens its gates at the state fairground to the Minnesota State Fair. Like every other state fair across the nation, you see your average clowns, a variety of circus rides that twirl and spin around enough to make any passerby nauseous, live music performed each night at the grandstand, and enough animals to have your own zoo.

However, Minnesota separates itself from other ordinary state fairs when you walk through the food grounds. You notice that yes... you have your corn dogs, your cotton candy, cheese curds, and beer. But what you don't see at many other state fairs that you find in Minnesota is an assortment of foods... a WIDE assortment of foods deep-fried and put on a stick!

In this series, I took photographs of some of the kiosks and signs along with some appetizing examples of what you could find when wandering around the fairgrounds.

From deep-friend candy bars, to alligator and SPAM curds, to frozen grapes and fried fruit on a stick, Minnesota knows how to keep its people entertained and for the most part very happy.
