Lensbaby Compser and Its Use on Rural Highways
By Frank McMains

Taking the long way home brought us past the river control structures which are designed to hold back the Mississippi River from the path it wants to take to the Gulf through the Atchafalaya Basin. The road follows the high ground through vast fields, wetlands dotted with white pelicans and ancient railroad stops. I stuck with the Lensbaby all day because I think it is an interesting way to view this sort of the rural South but also because its entirely manual controls really make you work for a shot. The exposures are all at f/5.6 on an overcast day and processed them from RAW with Aperture 2. Well, most of the shots were on an overcast day.
