I see the end of jpg

Not considering the stupendous effort by the JPG community for trying to bring the magazine back up, I think JPG magazine will be soon relegated to the spam and junk photographic circulation you randomly see on the internet because

1) Spotlight: Clever way of raking in more moolah but if you have noticed the junk displayed because of this you would know what I mean

2) Greener: Oh well, another excuse. But irrespective of whether the capturing medium is digital or print the medium of appreciation for photography is still overwhelmingly in favor of print

3) Quarterly: Are you kidding me? In this age of 6.5 seconds of consumer attention span someone is really interested in waiting for 4 months.

In spite of all the above, JPG will initially make more money because of people-having-a-camera would definitely want to see their images spotlighted, 'published' etc. But slowly but surely this group of people will realize they are basically buying their way in and will gradually realize they have bought enough publicity to last them a lifetime (which is typically a year in the life of an amateur) and they have better things to take care of (like career, kids or flu). JPG must be smiling reading this because they must be thinking "so what? we will have the next generation of wannabes. right?" Don't be so sure because what you are getting now is because of the kind of reputation this magazine had before you guys (whoever) took over. You are feeding of the past. Now you are on your own. Thinking that wow so many people 'need' this magazine (why else would they be so keen to bring it back into circulation) maybe the biggest mistake you are making.
