JPG Mag no longer in print

This week, JPG announced the "return" of the print magazine, and subscriptions.
However, there is no print subscription, no newsstand coverage... In short, JPG Magazine isn't really, in any real sense of the word, a magazine. Now, you can pay to be emailed a PDF of the published images already on the site, or pay even more for an outside company to print that PDF and mail it to you.
This means even more for the photographers trying to get published, than it does for the people who want to buy the magazine... because now the magazine simply will not be on any newsstands, anywhere.
This site just lost my interest completely. I am okay with a web-centric experience, but when I want that, I spend my time and effort on DeviantArt. There's really no point to JPG any more.

Well stated, Ian. I agree. I feel like current subscribers (like myself, with over a year of issues due to me) are getting robbed. I believe that the subscribers that have already paid should be sent printed magazines until their subscriptions run out and then make a choice as to whether they want to pay for online content. I'm sure you know as well as any other photographer here that photographs should be printed to be properly appreciated and that was what brought many of us here, photographers and appreciators alike. JPG was at one time something to look forward to, with a sort of "by photographers, for photographers" feel. Without the printed magazine, I predict the slick new business model will not last.
Good looking portraiture by the way...perfect for DeviantArt.
